Can you give us your name, position and duties with True?
Josh Jarrett. I am the founder, owner, product engineer, product tester, and customer service rep, I even help pack and ship the orders.
Would you be able to give me a brief history of how True got started and what your role in that process was?
Some friends and I were sitting around eating after training one Saturday and talking about a few products we wish we had. It went from there. I’ve been a machinist for the past decade and then moved into CNC programming and manufacturing process engineering in the aerospace industry. Due to my background in manufacturing I knew how to take a product from just a thought, to the real deal. I have a degree in business, so between that and my experience in manufacturing it only made sense. I came up with some designs and started looking for a manufacturer. I found one I felt I could trust and had samples made. A few revisions later we had a finished product. I got a second mortgage on my home to finance my first order and committed to it. Since then, we’ve slowly added new products to our line.
Do you have a background in any martial arts/combat sports?
I first began training in BJJ 5 years ago, but had to take a few years off due to health problems. For the past 3 years I’ve been training traditional BJJ in the gi one or two days a week, and mixed martial arts sparring, takedowns, and boxing 2 days a week as well. I’m currently a blue belt. I’ve competed in BJJ at a state level several times, and have competed at NAGA US Nationals as well. I’ve done less BJJ competition lately in order to be able to spend more time on striking and mixed martial arts training. I hope to fight my first ammy fight early next year. I’d hoped to fight sooner, but due to the current situation with Alabama’s athletic commission fighting in any MMA fight in the state is currently illegal.

Many people have been asking me about this review since I noted I would be doing it. It’s a sharp looking Gi in a good price point. But how does it fare on the mats? Check out the rest of the article for the full review!

Can you give me your name, title, and what you do at Rupture Clothing?
Nick Ciubotariu. I’m the Founder of Rupture Clothing. My responsibilities lie mostly with product development, though (as most of the company principals), I deal with a bit of everything except day-to-day operations. I leave that to our very capable CEO – she keeps us all in check and marching nicely in formation

I’ve been using Defense Soap for the past two weeks. It’s become a part of my gym bag. It leaves me with a nice, fresh feeling and the health benefits are certainly top notch after getting more educated on skin infections common to practitioners of combat sports.
Guy Sako, CEO of Defense Soap, was kind enough to send me the samples I’ve been testing out of both the solid bar and the liquid soap. I used the soap along with my Axe shower tool and it certainly left me feeling clean.
I caught up with Guy to discuss more about Defense’s line of products and a bit about the company as well. You’ll also get to read about their newest product here FIRST, before anywhere else – thanks Guy!

I’ve got interviews with Chris Odell from Datsusara MMA and Shakib Nassiri of SubmissionFC. I’ve got some of Submission’s gear lined up for review as well and an interview with Guy from Defense Soap!
I’m also planning on showing what happens to a traditional Gi after you do some BJJ in it soon, so that should give you an idea of why a quality BJJ Gi is necessary!
